Flat Flex Conveyor Belt

Stainless steel flat flex conveyor belt

Flat flex belts are lightweight, open-mesh stainless steel conveyor belts that are positively driven by sprockets. Their large open area and smooth, hygienic surface make them a favourite on baking, cooling, enrobing and frying lines, running straight or around 90° and 180° curves.

How a flat flex belt is built

Each belt is woven on a digital mesh weaving machine from high-tensile stainless steel wire. It is a single-layer structure, so it stays light and lets air, heat and liquid pass through freely.

The edges are normally finished with a single loop. For special applications, stopper spirals can be added, and versions with a single small solid structure or a double small side structure are available.

Flat flex belts are mostly used on straight conveyors, but they also run well on turning conveyors.

Why choose a flat flex belt

  • Large open area of 35% to 70% for excellent airflow, cooling and drainage.
  • Positively driven by sprockets for stable running and accurate tracking.
  • Hygienic, easy-to-clean design that suits clean-in-place systems.
  • Handles working temperatures from −55 °C up to 300 °C.
  • Smooth belt surface that carries light and medium loads gently.
  • Runs straight or around 90° and 180° turns.

Flat Flex Belt FAQs

What is a flat flex conveyor belt?

A flat flex belt is a lightweight stainless steel wire belt with a single-layer, open structure. It is driven positively by sprockets and is used mainly on food processing lines for baking, cooling, enrobing and frying.

Which materials are available?

Flat flex belts are made from SUS304 or SUS316 stainless steel. SUS316 is the better choice for wet, salty or more corrosive environments.

Can a flat flex belt run around curves?

Yes. Flat flex belts run on straight conveyors and can also turn through 90° and 180° curves.

What temperatures can it handle?

The standard working range is −55 °C to 300 °C, which covers freezing and cooling through to baking and frying.

Do you supply sprockets?

Yes. Sprockets are made to order to match your belt's pitch and your drive shaft, in the material you need.

What do you need from me for a quote?

The belt width and length, what it will carry, the operating temperature and, if possible, drawings, photos or details of your current belt. Use the quote form on this page or send us a WhatsApp.
