Stainless steel belt for spiral and curved conveyors
Side Drive Conveyor Belt

Side drive belts are driven by sprockets on the belt edge rather than underneath, which keeps friction low and lets the belt run smoothly through 180° and 360° curves. The mesh overlay can be stainless steel wire or moulded plastic, so the same belt style suits a wide range of food products.
- SS304 / SS316
- 310–1000 mm wide
- 180° and 360° curves
- Stainless or plastic overlay
- Side sprocket drive
Available with mesh overlay, rod-only and side guard designs.

How a side drive belt is built
Side drive belts are woven on an imported digital mesh weaving machine and are made up of wire mesh, cross rods and links driven by a sprocket.
The surface is smooth, durable and wear-resistant. The overlay can be stainless steel wire or plastic moulding.
Driven by a side gear, the belt runs smoothly and withstands heavy pressure and tension.
Why choose a side drive belt
- Spirals made from high-tensile hard wire for superior wear resistance.
- Smooth surface with excellent ventilation – hygienic and easy to clean.
- Side sprockets reduce friction for smooth straight running and curves up to 180° and 360°.
- Easy maintenance with a single drive unit and an engage-and-release system for the drive wheels.
Where side drive belts are used
Popular in spiral and curved conveyors across food and beverage production.

Side Drive Belt FAQs
How is a side drive belt different from a spiral grid belt?
Both run in spiral and curved conveyors. A side drive belt is driven by sprockets engaging the belt edge, which reduces friction and suits systems designed for edge drive.
Can I get a plastic mesh overlay?
Yes. The overlay can be stainless steel wire or moulded plastic.
Which widths are available?
Standard widths range from 310 to 1000 mm.
Is it easy to maintain?
Yes. It uses a single drive unit with an engage-and-release system for the drive wheels, which makes maintenance faster.
What do you need from me for a quote?
The belt width and length, what it will carry, the operating temperature and, if possible, drawings, photos or details of your current belt. Use the quote form on this page or send us a WhatsApp.
